Her parents are Harvey Welker a Native American father, and Julie Welker an African-American mother. Her mother is an agent for real estate, and her father has a degree in engineering. Walker completed her education at The Germantown Friends School (Germantown Area) in Philadelphia, graduating in 1994. She went to Harvard College, where she obtained a Bachelors in Arts degree. Welker married John Hughes in Philadelphia, who was an acclaimed marketing director. The couple have two daughters. The couple began being involved in an affair. John, John's husband is a year older than him. They decided to move their relationship to a new stage because things were getting so good. On March 4th 2017 the couple got married.
